AHRMA Roebling Road, First Races February 17-19, 2021

The first race of the 2021 AHRMA season took place in February. It was a very cold opening, with temperatures starting the day in the 30˚F range. The lap times were much slower this year as a result of the cold.

David won the Saturday race in class C. Alex McLean's Norton won the second race on Sunday due to a last-second missed shift in the draft.

AHRMA Round 2 took place in Kershaw, North Carolina. The low temperatures were still a factor. David ran in the practice on Friday. He skipped the early morning practices before the races due to the cold.

David was able to place first in both races.

The engine's top-end was refreshed this winter after two seasons of racing.

Congratulation to David for taking three out of four of the first races!

Envy is not the word! in the UK we still wait for any firm race dates....
and the track days (when they start) are booked solid and sorting a bike out after being built really needs an open pit lane session not a 20 minute blast with wanabee racers on crutch rockets...

AHRMA appears to be doing well with the restrictions. David got a vaccination (J&J) a while ago.

Look carefully at the engine underside and what is fitted instead of propstand plates.
I'd like something similar on my Comet.

I dont know what the US regs are but the UK ACU says the belly pan needs to be big enough to hold the ciontents of the engine sump this is obviously aimed at the non oil tank guys and has to be a fair size whereas the contents of a Vincent sump is very small (assuming it hasn't stood for a week or so :)) so we made a shallow one for our twin mainly because the front exhaust pipe has to run down the center line underneath before coming out behind the clutch. Getting ground clearance is not easy when you cant have high level pipes.

Herman, I think that only applies to the catch tank for the breather. There is another one which has to catch the oil content of the crankcase in case of an engine blow up.
