Hi What is the correct grade locktite.
Yes I guess the culprit was the cahain but that was long, long ago before I had the Comet.
What are your thoughts on the correct way to get bearing cups out My Mot garage suggested a drift. The bearings sit against a spacer in the hub.

Ed Stevens suggest Loctite 641.

I weld a bead into the bearings to shrink the bearing. It saves the washer and spacers.

It is the easiest way, but it takes a TIG welder. Otherwise, you have to drift them out after applying heat. They may come out easily, but you may have to replace the spacer and/or washer.

I found on my Comets that the chain would tighten as the suspension compressed. I had to run the chain fairly loose to prevent damage to the rear bearing and the transmission bearing.
