Hi all,

My friend Greg is rebuilding a Miller mag-dyno for an Excelsior Manxman and understands that it is the same as used on a Series ‘A’ Comet.

He is looking for a pickup as in the attached pictures? Would anyone know where he might find one? Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Thanks
Mike

Dave Lindsley retired at the end of 2022 and he refurbished my Miller mag-dyno as one of his last projects. He had a box of old bits and used some for my rebuild. I understand he sold all his stock and if you can trace where it went then you may be lucky. If you are stuck I could try contacting him for you as I have his personal mobile.

Also there's a chap I understand who specialise in Excelsior restorations. If you can trace him that might be another suggestion.

Thank you very much for your help! I'll pass this along, especially the Excelsior possibility. Best wishes, Mike

Hi again, I would be most grateful if you could share Dave's phone number with me off-line or perhaps if it's not too much trouble you could contact him? My friend Greg and I would really appreciate it. Thanks for all your help, Mike

Hi. I'll drop him a WhatsApp now and make the enquiry if he has kept any bits or if he will give me the details of the chap who bought them.

Last time I talked with Dave, OK whoever the lady was that answered Dave's phone, I was told in no uncertain terms, "We do not ship to America". I informed her I was from Canada and not the litigious Untied States of America, she replied "We do not ship to North America". I told her I would just get one of my UK family or friends to buy what I wanted. She told me she wouldn't sell them to anybody in the next month as I know they will be going to North America.

Like you I was only looking for a couple of pickups but for the Lucas mag on the A twin.

I would suggest you get someone in the UK to do the inquiry and the purchase.

Sports Power wouldn't sell me a 5 speed --- again we don't sell to America

The world is in a very sad state......
