That was good money on the Comet but remember auctions can get carried away. My bid was U.S. $47,888 and really I'd have been
surprised if I got away with that. Mr. Costalot definitely has a lot of time spent on that. Impressive screw in tank emblems ... I do like
the water slides but I always wondered why that was it. Probably would have broken the bank for Mr. Vincent if he'd gone that route.

Sir Costalot was built by Laurie Parsons, it might well be described as a “bitsa” but it was/is a work of art, and almost certainly mechanically perfect when built, whether that is still the case I have no idea.

Seems prices are holding stronger in the US, such is the example of the D shadow that just sold for 75k

Had purchased it at the stafford sale for nearly half of that.

Regarding falling prices, a 1954 Black Shadow in touring trim sold last month on Bring A Trailer for $110,000 USD. Has a five speed transmission
