Oil passage from the pump to the filter chamber

One of our French members cleverly fitted a Honda oil pump inside the timing chest, but I think to supply additional oil to the camshafts and followers, so the standard pump was still in use as well.

In fact two of our French members have developed auxiliary pumps.

I also recall that , it just fed the cam lobes . It might have been Herve Hamon who was visiting us around that time with Catherine on his Comet . Sid .

I would grind a shallow groove for the oil to better reach the lobe feed hole on long shafts . Sid .

Yes, I opened up the catch bevel as well. Also, cam spindles should be fitted with the feed holes pointed at the large idler spindle not straight up as shown in the book. Naturally this delivers oil to the more open
non loaded portion of the cam bush.

Don't the holes in the spindle end up between the two bushings in the cams?

Oh, I forgot to mention that I honed the cam i.d. and made long bushes from Ampco 45..... about 100% more bearing contact.
