Front Spring Box Compressor Tool

I knocked up a front spring box compressor tool using some small square tube, a long treaded rod and a couple of angle plates. Idea came from Mike Tylers video. I have had no luck finding details of a tool in the files. Not sure what other use.
I did try the "windlass" approach, lost some paint and really seamed sketchy.

Windlass works OK for me I just use a steel bar to twist the rope if you do it with the FF16AS vertical offering it up to the fork leg compresses just that little bit more to notch over the fixing
A length of that blue nylon rope is the secret, strong enough to compress the spring, thin enough to slip out from under FF16AS even when FF17 is threaded in , And dont forget to slightly taper FF17 thread to enter the threaded clevis

Windlass works for me, nylon cord as Tim says, and I use the Front Wheel tommy bar to tension the cord, wasn't the tommy made to satisfy that function, as well as securing the wheel.

Made this some years ago, bolt below first, than span, and put top bolt in. not that difficult to make, Handed bottom parts fixed with spindle and thrusts on the brake reaction hole.
Top part is fixed with the Pin (well a drill....)
