The vast majority of modern oils are detergent - I expect that includes the NAPA product, unless it says "Non-Detergent" in big letters on the container.

Somewhat of a religious issue, but I've been using Royal Purple HPS 20W50 based on these tests:

Glen Breaks mentioned this website, very informative. I switched away from Brad Penn and now go with either Valvoline VR-1 or Castrol GTX Classic based on the test results. Either of those go into my 1964 Ford FE 427 too.

And it was I that told Robert about VR1, but he may have forgotten that.
I first became aware of Valvoline VR-1 when Big Sid gave it the thumbs up on this Forum a few years back,
Big Sid also recommended Denso Spark Plugs W22EP-U#4, but I did not get on with those, nothing like as reliable as my KLG FE70s.
