You can also have some 1-5/8" stubs made up with a flange on them. I had a small batch made years ago from a local muffler company. Just trim your stub in the exhaust port as Robert suggests and trim the pipe to match. Index both parts. This is easier than using a separator and the only chrome you have to sand away is on the pipe. The nut will cover the weld.
