Yes, but get one of thesePig of a job keeping it polished through the drain hole.
I think the insides might occasionally get oiled so less likely to oxidize.Considering how quickly the outside of my engine tarnishes after polishing I can only imagine internal polishing would do the same if the engine is used.

Painted/Polished crankcases are for improving "windage", the drag on the crankshaft from the air/oil in the crankcase. The 1st and best thing to fight windage is a flywheel scraper, which all Vincents have.The paint mentioned above is Glyptal http://glyptal.com/products/1201tech.pdf
