Motor Cycle assembly had moved to No2 Fisher Green Factory, Vincent had changed to a marketing company, first selling Fireflys that came completely assembled from Millers then the NSU quickly, arrived straight from Germany in railcars into Stevenage railway station Vincent dealers were then cycle dealers not motor cycle dealers when the NSU hit the market the Firefly was a dead duck the dealers only wanted NSUs not Fireflys one of the smart managers at Vincent told the dealers they had to take so many Fireflys to get a NSU court case Vincents lost!

Next vincent had a delivery of 198cc and 123cc NSU engines, frames, and forks then vincent built them with UK parts they had to have 60% UK parts to comply for sale in the UK. how many were sold I do not know then Vincents were going to do the NSU250cc Max two or tree arrived as complete bikes one was on the Earls Court Show Stand with a Vincent dual set no more were done.

In international trade this is a habit to protect home market. I made similar trades selling flour mills to third world countries, partly being manufactured in eastern Germany, when the iron curtain
still was in existence. We had a law, giving the condition to imply more than 50% of home production to be allowed to sell it as "Made in Germany". Trick was, that this related to the value, not the
technical volume. As eastern manufactured parts usually were much cheaper than ours, we were able to sell more or less pure eastern goods as "Made in Germany".
Would be interesting to know, if NSU, then the world´s largest motorcycle manufacturer, was cheaper than british parts, if they had a similar trade law, then.
