A few weeks ago, I asked for help with my Shadow. A number of my close personal friends on this page responded that the shifting mechanism needed to be adjusted.
A member of my local chapter of The Antique Motorcycle Club of America came over to my shop and got the bike squared away.
He also installed the electric start on it last spring and now I can (temporarily) consider it sorted and ready for spring.
On another note, the AMCA has a chapter in England led by the inimitable Steve Slocombe in Folkestone, Kent. You can go to his site at amca-europe.eu. The club puts out a beautiful magazine 6 times a year and hosts numerous events. All bikes welcome. Vincents show up at most of our meets in the colonies.
