RF60

Hi all, I am looking at a Rapide series C with what is almost definitely the correct original registration number on it, which has an RF60 (buff log book) and a 1970's tax disc attached. The registration number is not showing up on DVLA records, so I am assuming (?) that I could apply and retain the original registration number using the RF60 and tax disc as proof, and therefore get a V5C from them for this machine??
