Bill, you will be right just my remembering the place is quite different. What is the detail on the right side in the photo, like a brick gate, and the road looks so much deeper with spectators high up. Also Kate´s cottage so big in the long distance - a case of perspective ?
Went along there in Google street view which seems to confirm my imagination. I was there four times, latest in mid-eighties and am not sure I will make it once more. But the Manx is definitely a place with charisma - even with no races going.

Yes, it is all a matter of perspective: With a powerful tele on the camera Kate´s cottage may look closer than real. Below is a picture which you get from Google street view from the same place, the view is quite different I think:

Vic, thanks for the google photo which goes to show how appearances can be deceptive! Note the seating area on the right foreground and how the bank has been pulled back which gives the racers a better entry into the bend (ie faster). Also a recent addition is the parking area access on the right just past said seating area and it would seem that the flag marshalls hut has been moved again but that too could be an optical illusion. Last time l was there was in 2016 for a funeral escort duty and like your good self l very much doubt that l will return as the place has changed so much over the years and not all for the good. Still, many happy memories, keep safe vic, good to chat, cheers Bill...........

Not been for many a year but wasn't it Niarbyl Bay that all Vincents and Velocettes headed for on Mad (suicide) Sunday?
