G: Gearbox (Twin) Gearbox Picture

I’ve just been looking at the picture of gearbox internals on this forum (home page?) and I think things are laid out differently to how they would be fitted in the bike, with what I’d call the layshaft lying to the wrong side of the other shaft, As this forum is such a reference to us for tech help it could cause someone to worry if they used it as a reference. Am I right?

There is a picture of the Quaife 5 speed cluster that is also wrong
can you give us the link to the picture you are referring to?

Selector forks are on the wrong side of the cluster.

Hello, on Normski's picture the main shaft assembly needs turning end to end, input and output are reversed.

Similar error by the look of it, layshaft should be in front of clutch shaft. It’s maybe not important but I approached my first gearbox reassembly with some trepidation and pictures like this would have been confusing.

Probably cropped from a catalogue. If you enlarge it the quality reduces and the more you enlarge the more the picture pixelated. Below is the picture cropped and blown up 200%. If you compare it with the one in Tim's post you can see that although it is larger the clarity is not as good. Someone may have a better photograph that can be enlarged successfully.
