HB: Handlebars Width of Handlebars

Hi All,

My C Rapide is being delivered to me tomorrow. I have concerns that the handlebars may not fit through my side gate. I got the handlebars from the club a couple of years ago, anyone know what the standard width of the bars is?

Hi Paul, thanks for the good wishes. The handlebars on the prototype Knight, which I belive are original, are 24.5 inches wide. Those on the ex- Cecil Mills bike are 28 inches wide and those are almost certainly not originals

My Comet's about 27" with mirrors, and about 25.5" without.

28 inches is the standard length so will go through any door the same width as my panniers

A minute with "Know Thy Beast" tells me Standard 25.1/2" and D's 26.1/2". [as original without mirrors of course]

Some of the Club bars were wrong, too long a centre section. Norton style are about 12" centre section, Vincent ones about 9 1/2".

There were also Sidecar straights which were a bit longer.

Usually you can go through by tilting one way then the other, I can get 30" through 25" opening etc, hope you can too maybe.
