What brand is "Green Carb Cleaner", please? I have an ultrasonic cleaning tank and could use a good recommendation for what to use for cleaning carburetors. And do you use it with the tank heater on? Thank you.
I use "Simple Green" and the tank heater and it works excellently for cleaning carbs.
One thing not yet mentioned is that ethanol draws water from air. So tanks can rust more.
Living far from sea where humidity is usually low, I have less problems with stale fuel. Only once had to change fuel in a lawn mower.
On all petrol engines I nowadays have two last petrol fillings before winter hibernation with ethanol free alkylate petrol (Aspen). Comes in 95, 98, 102 octane RON. E.g. the Norton WD16H stood unattended for 5 years filled with Aspen in a barn. Started second kick. Saves a lot of time not have to drain carbs in 14 engines.
The diesel engines can run happily after years of standstill, if filled with winter diesel with less renewable content.
