I have to replace my exhaust system due to surface rust..the new less restrictive mufflers offered by the club shop that offer up to 6hp increase are tempting - but do they require any jetting changes? The pipes I currently have are quite blued, especially the front.
I have the original 276 carbs fitted.

Hi Bob
I just put a new Club silencer (That word used loosely) on the Hancock bike. It has the original carbs with 170 main jets and 6/4 cutaways and the needles in the middle groove.
It runs an absolute treat and if anything is perhaps a bit rich, which is fine until it gets a few miles on it. A quick test (as I only put 300 miles on it) seemed to return about 45 mpg which is low. When all those new parts are used to each other I will try dropping the needles one groove.

7.3:1 by the way and MK 1 cams.

So the answer would be I think you can leave the jetting alone if you are set up as above which is by the book.
