Hmmm, cable instead of rod - would that be desirable for the connection of both lifters on cam followers ?? There is a lot of offset in the positions of levers due to cylinder offset on twins which means there is a side pull in the original spoke linkage. You´d need very sloppy holes in levers for coping with poor alignment of levers when having a solid rod. So a cable would do nicely - with safely brazed ends for pins and clips on levers ??
I did not accept that matter as is and made a longer front lever to bring it up to alignment with rear lever. So a support on the outer end of the long lifter spindle was fabricated, not shown in first photo. Second photo shows alu support bracket fixed with 2 Torx countersunk screws.
