Would a genuine factory Lightning have been registered for road use, perhaps Simon can tell us.
You're right! It was registered but had no lights, dynamo or electrics. I was spending most of my wages trying to put it into usable road trim when it all went pear shaped. Still, Conway probably knew what they were buying. Salesman was ebullient with a bushy ginger moustache.

Having ordered the ET100 I was happily working on two of my sons bikes (Bonnie & Velo) but suffering from a nagging thought. Home later and rummaging in a drawer. Sure enough, I had a complete modified rocker assembly from my previous Twin. Which had belonged to Norman Friston before I bought it. BCH 55. Memory clearly isn't what it was!
That is a different solution to the same problem, a bit like Betamax and VHS, the other type of modification seems to have won favour.
