It happened to me. No real symptoms but I took the pipes off for another reason and there was no sign of the front lower exhaust valve guide. I could not find any trace of the valve guide but the lock ring was in at least three pieces in with the valve spring. That was the reason for the design of the 'Walker Widget'.
