I still have the E.I. Carb's 34mm, Not so bad on a Comet but slow running a pain on a Twin,
Nice alloy though.

Great story. Paul lives close by.
Around 2000 he wrote a piece about this bike. In it he blamed a lot of his problems on poor design by Vincent. He has obviously reflected on that since and realized these were all self inflicted wounds.

I like his story telling style.

Obviously a very resourceful and talented guy, but for me it seems like an awful long time of Vincent ownership, with virtually no time spent on riding pleasure, for me it kind of misses the point, but I did enjoy viewing the condensed Youtube chronicle.

I think he realizes now that he went about the project in the wrong way, if the goal was to ride a Vincent. On the other hand, he started Brodie Bikes along the way and did very well with that business. It's likely that he used some of the Vincent learning to propel that business.
