I am delving into bits of the Knight that haven’t seen the light of day for 20 years.

Should I continue to use the G61 that was fitted or use the G61/1 with ears which I found in my grotto?

I also found a KLG F220 with a non adjustable side electrode. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like that before.

I always felt the ears were too flimsy for real effect ,so for racing (or nowadays for electric starts without kickstart gubbins) I did the two 1/4 bsf nuts mod brazed on edge with adjustable allen screws (40 years on?)

On my twin the way of travel was restricted by the ears so that third gear was not save at home and jumped out sometimes.Without the ears it is no problem! Regards Erik

Ian, If I remember correctly from my 7R racing days, the KLG F220 is a racing plug; not really usable on a road bike.

Thank you. It is extremely short reach, aided by the recessed electrodes. Is this due to higher compression ratios leaving n space in the combustion chamber ?
