Misc: Charging Systems 49 Shadow electrics

My 49 Shadow came with this Lucas regulator and I'm not certain which dynamo. Partial numbers on the dynamo are visible in the photo. Although it is functional, it interferes with the fuel line and battery box, and I would like to have a battery installed. Would it be possible to switch out the regulator to something that fits better without changing the dynamo? Not interested in concours but not fond of ugly. Any assistance will be most appreciated.

Don't know if your bike is 12v or 6v, positive or negative ground but I've had great sevice from the Podtronics regulator.

I've had success with both the V-Reg2 (http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffyelectrex.htm) and the DVR2 (https://www.dynamoregulators.com/dvr2.php) regulators.

Both will fit within a standard Miller regulator case, allowing you to get rid of the current adaptor plate and oversize Lucas regulator.

It is possible to mount any of the modern solid state regulators mentioned on the underside of the battery platform.
