I am not that young, 62. Reasonably healthy thank goodness. Rich enough I guess (although I don't know what that means these days), Maybe a few talents, not including metalwork (I am much better at woodwork), but very little time (which is why it took me 8 years). I imagined it into being and never gave up on it.
It was Enoch Powell who said:
"The lives of Nations, no less than those of Men, are lived largely in the imagination."
Hi Simon, Beautiful piece! I am also building a modern Vincent bike based on the Egli TPV billet frame. New built engine as well. Curious from what donor bike you got the front fork and wheels?

"Simon Leake used a set of modern upside down forks up front which were sourced from a Suzuki GSX-R, these were kept complete with Suzuki-sourced wheels and brakes – giving the Vincent twin six-piston Tokico callipers and floating discs up front, with a matching single disc in the rear."

"I’d already purchased a Suzuki GSX-R 750 front end, and I bought GSX-R 650 wheels because I liked the clarity of the three spokes. They have a slightly classic look to them."

It goes without saying the bike is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship, and hoping not to be critical, but seeing only the finished product doesn't show as much as I'd personally like to see. I'd like to see a photo of the billet frame, and some step by step of the build. Who crafted the perfect fuel tank. How much money was invested in the whole plot, piece by piece or at least a generalization thereof. No idea how much the frame, tank, engine cost, and these seem to be things that should be incorporated into a proper journalistic story about the machine.
