You have one of these in your workshop - don`t you ?

As you can see this has been used many times as evidenced by the splayed out end.Took some welly over the years.

I just use the jaws of a vice, after all it is the rocker that you need to support not the alloy rocker bearing.......slight chamfer on the pin and some engine oil and all goes together well.

That slight chamfer is probably the most important part… otherwise the pin can shave a bunch of long thin curly shards off the inside of the rocker and easily go unnoticed. Not the sort of thing one wants going through the pump.

The pump would not be my concern, it is used to lots of grit. But the press fit of the pin in the rocker would be gone.
