E: Engine Rocker Arm Spindle Diameter

Poking around the motor I noticed that an inlet rocker arm side play is approaching Richardson's suggested 10 thou limit before shimming is required.
In preparation for that fateful day when shimming is required does anyone have necessary spindle diameter measurement to hand and suggested OD for shim.

1/2" x 1" measured on an old rocker bearing.

VOC Spares on the recent occasions I have used them have given outstanding service. Talk about a 'well oiled machine'.

the Spares do have shims for the rockers, BUT, it you have the modified rockers with the threaded top and using the hat nut, then I can't see how the shims the Spares supply will work unless they supply them with a flat spot. Some one PLEASE enlighten me !! Is it not the end float (side play) we are talking about with the rockers ? I know there are o.s. blocks to fix up warbled out tunnels ...

Good question I believe the o/d of the shim is small enough to fit with the locking rocker feed bold. But i will check when I am next in the Spares Co.

The bearing in this instance does not have a threaded top locator.
