ET: Engine (Twin) Holder crankcases

Could someone advise if twin Holder crankcases are as good as the originals please ? a friend is buying a twin with these fitted some time back.

I would suggest that after building both Holder and Molnar cases Molnar are preferable' 10 years or so ago Holder were the only game on the block and I had Conways fettle them as they knew all the bits to machine etc and it went in our Egli Racer, they were OK in use.
A year or so ago Molnar cases did not need that work when Ben built an engine for SA and I venture they were better than original
I am contemplating getting a set and building a twin for my dotage God knows I have enough bits....

Very interesting, I just watched the video too, very exciting, the silencer looked a little hot/blue, sounded very professional
Hopefully the Holder cases will be alright, they have done a few miles since they were fitted years ago.

Would you say that the Molnar cases took no more machine tool modification than an NOS set would need?

Andy molnar has two 5 axis DMU machines. + the capability to program it. And is very successful in Norton bevel engines.

I have a set from them. Just superbly machined.

Well, CNC is standard for decades, you cannot earn your living with olde time engineering ways. As they say: You can have little accidents at your job. But for really messing up the job you need a computer !
