Have a root round this site (see "search" top right), there are lots of threads on valve timing, and lots of different methods - pick the one that suits you best.

Perhaps the search is not prominent enough or perhaps some avoid its necessary protocols I like the minus of the bolean search. here is an example (apologies to grannys with egg sucking diplomas)In google put in "Vincent wheels" have a look at the results, then try "Vincent wheels -slot -St -slotcar" very handy in ebay to narrow your search

Need help on a Vincent comet 1953 timing the valves, if anyone can help would really appreciate it.
Unless you have some really strange cams/valve gear setup I would time your engine to have equal valve lift at 4º before TDC. This works for virtually all engines.
Set up your timing disc on the drive side mainshaft if the primary side is off or if the engine is in one lump remove the brass OP9/2 plug near the bottom of the timing cover and mount the disc on a rod pushed into the hole in the end of the timing side mainshaft. The rod needs to have a slight interference fit in the mainshaft. Use dial gauges on the top of the valve or tappet adjuster to measure the amount of lift.
You can not always trust the timing marks on the timing gears. If you do use the marks you need to carefully turn the engine over in case they are a long way out to avoid a valve hitting the piston.
