Mine are fine, but I saw this page https://www.ironheadcycle.com/pages/caserepair.html and it mentions "In order to find the extent of the damage the case was sprayed with developer fluid which dries as a white powder and draws oil out of the crack and makes the crack show as a black line." That might be useful to some Vincenteers who attempt this sort of work.

Colourless paraffin ? Would not think this showed well on the white developer. Better get the penetrant red , will last you for life as not much is used for checking cracks. Just the white developer will be needed in quantities. Allright, white developer drawing black oil into it for showing cracks would require some Vincent black oil - which then means you got decent black oil in the engine from very extended oil changes ??
