Chank's, I did it on my Mk 10 !!, = 3 carb's :) .

You could also use a Drill Bit !, Put the shank of the drill gently between the cutaway on the slide, And the bottom of the carb Hole,
Then see if the other carb' is the same,
But if you change the mixture a nats , That can also alter the speed of the engine.

I recently fitted a new exhaust valve lifter connecting rod to my rebuild, the crank on the connecting rod to the front lifter arm was to long and fouled the case not allowing the valve to close. The hole for the split pin was also to far out, so it could not be shortened without a new hole being drilled. If this is what you’ve just replaced it could be worth checking.

I once made up a new valve lifter link, E221 for a local Comet owner (I won't say rider). He asked what material I had used. I answered "a spoke". He just about threw it back at me with a comment something like "I'm not putting that in my bike!". I didn't even try to explain that the Factory used the same stuff.
