Comet Oil Leak

My Comet leaks oil at the valve lifter. Unfortunately the new sealed lifter ferrule for the twins can't be fitted to a Comet without major surgery. I have tried blocking the timed breather and fitting an elephant's trunk with wire wool filter, but this resulted in sludge in the trunk, filter and oil filler cap. Can anyone either supply, or provide details of, a breather with a flap or ball valve?

Dai..If i remember correctly I put an extra seal between the spring and the abutment on the inside of the timing chest and I get no leaks from the lifter mechanism now.I made a breather mounted on the mag inspection cover and all I get is condensation so I am going to return to the standard breather..John
