Amal mk1tickover problem cured

After going through every

conceivable jet combination to cure uneven tickover and poor pickup from closed throttle, advice came and I took out the old Welch plug which covers the pilot air screw chamber on the underneath of the main body and punched in a new one purchased from burlens .apparently an air leak can occur and mess with tickover .I can confirm my worries are over

I 've found debris in there before from where a drill has broken through during manufacture. It has no way out and causes intermittent problems.
