My Rapide has Mk1 carbs that has 928/3 slides altered to 3 1/2 cutaways.
106 Needle jet
Pilot jet 25
190 Main Jet
Interesting you altered the cutaways to 3 1/2 , was it too rich off idle ? Mine is a 170 jet but lean off idle with a 3 1/2 , I’m wondering if 180 jets with 3# slides is about right

I'm not at home right now so I can't check my carbs. It would be a good idea to purchase some extra main jets in various sizes for tuning. You could buy some 180s and 190s then try the bike with those, see how it pulls. The jets are quite inexpensive.

Thanks what would you use I’m not a fan of Amal’s
1. Mikunis but with a mod to use flange fitting *
2. Monoblocks
3 The original series B or C carbs

* there is someone who produces an aluninium flange that can be locktighted to the Mikuni stem I have no details
I found that the rubber mounting to a spigot adaptor had a tendancy to squeeze itself off especially if oil got in the works it was improved by using modern plastic radiator hose but a flange is best on a Vincent the only other thing to watch is the high entrance point of the fuel supply under a Vincent tank.
