5" speedo gearboxes

I seem to remember that there are a number of gearboxes that 'fit' the back of '5" speedos including some from old British cars , and at least two types from the factory , some fit better than others especially on Girdralics .
I have done all the normal searches (Whickitapedia is a No No I cant remember my main web password) does any one have the full story?

I used a Range Rover one. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-579164P1 on mine. Pretty sure I got a pattern one as this is a bit pricey. You have to hack the forked bit off to get it in.

All three of them, the originals are to the right, the one on the left is a Land Rover one.

First time of asking, refused, `file too large`. reduced it by two thirds.

Remember that the original shadow speedos have a different chassis to speedos that don't have the gearbox, so you can't replace a worn out original gearbox with the Land Rover type unless you change the speedo chassis as well.
Just a thought.
