Gibraltar 1940, they also had M20 BSAs The first bike my father rode there in 1939 was a 1938 speed twin Triumph in civil colours which he hand painted into military colour

The MOD depot was at Elstow Nr Bedford, on the A421, Birthplace of John Bunyan 1628 how things have progressed ! also a few miles down the road where Dave Hills (of Vincent stands ) served time in the last war at the Cardington RAF Base the 1914/18 Airship hangers are still there.
And a few miles further on is Gramsden airfield where the brown brothers tested the first grey flash in the coldest winter in decades

Do you know where the ditch was that George Brown crashed into "near Bedford" when testing the twin?
I keep meaning to take the Flash over to Gransden and try and get some mood photos near any WW2 building that the gliding/flying club have left alone...

Much talk about 16H. I think I'll sell mine, as the Comet is a much better bike to ride. Only time the 16H works better is on bumpy gravel roads where it's more comfortable than the Ninja.

My father (Conhor Vane-Hunt) on his bike during WW2 when he was a dispatch rider. Any one know what bike he is on and what the blurry letters are on the tank?

The blurry letters would have been painted on there by WD to keep track of it?

Opps... guess you were referring to the other blurry letters. Never mind..
