We tried to start up a small business offering "Aerial Burial's" Where we would fly over someones favorite block of land, beach, or similar and spread their Ashes from out a small aperture window we installed in the bubble canopy.............In testing we tried, sand, saw dust, sugar and flour with some interesting results. It never eventuated and the idea "Turned to Dust"................We use to fly south over the NSW ranges over a town well known for recreational drug use and growth............Our Glider was white with blue center stripes on the inner wing and fuselage area's.............I told Garry my friend (pilot) not to fly too low...............In case some of the locals start trying to "Shoot at Us" given the Gliders resemblance to Police colours................;).

Have done this myself once having been asked to scatter the ashes of a friend and club member who died after a heart attack on the airfield. Took the advice from another friend who had tried to scatter ashes from a Piper Cherokee over the North Sea with the result of having to hoover most if the ashes back out of the cockpit after landing. "Decanted" the ashes into two (12 year old malt) whisky outer sleeves taping one side like a hinge and pulled the glider into a full stall, twice at 700' over the runway while emptying the contents completely out of the DV into the airflow. Not something I was keen to make a hash of with his widow in the audience on the ground. Informed after landing that it looked like two small flak bursts and no mess.
