Tom, I may have one. The only problem is I don’t know whether or not it’s been rebuilt. It came with a bike I purchased from auction. I’ve not had chance to inspect it or even go through the invoices for work that came with the bike.

Thanks for getting in touch Bowsh. I think it is possible to get a reasonable idea by running it up with a drill while holding it in a vice. Looking at your profile you are in West Molesey which I think is 2 hours ish so I cant pop down to see you..
If you can find out anything about its condition it would help.

Hi Tom, I've run it up on the drill. I'm only getting 5 volts. My drill is not high speed though!

Hi Paul
does it have plug leads attached? If so remove one of the plug caps and
hold the bare end (or pull 5mm from anywhere metal on the body of the magneto.) It should have a lovely big blue spark. If no leads you have to put one into one of the bakelite lead holders.

But you also have to make sure that you get the direction of rotation right which is clockwise if you are looking at the drive end.

Tom.
