Very sad news. Jack Furness has passed away, aged 96. As many will know, Jack was foreman at the Vincent Works during the 1950s, worked in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs stand-off, at Cosworth in the 1960s - before setting up servicing with Alf Searle. Gerry Jenkinson and I interviewed him twice for Speed Is Expensive. He was a wealth of insight and real gent. RIP.

Lovely man, sorely missed. Like so many former Works staff it was a joy to listen to Jack's memories of his time at Stevenage,

Hi all,
Jack's family have asked me to say the funeral will be private. Sorry to bring this news, as I am sure some would have liked to have attended and paid respects, but of course their wishes are paramount. They are hoping to hold a rally in Jack's memory at a later date.
