Interesting cover illustration

While perusing my Twitter feed today, I happened across the following:

I tried putting in the actual image, but it was far too large. For those as don't want to click through (this is the author's website, not Twitter itself), the cover of David Mack's forthcoming alternate history/fantasy novel The Iron Codex features a young woman riding a C Shadow while brandishing a magic wand. I have no idea whether she's actually riding a Vincent in the book, but I propose to find out.

The author confirms that the character rides a Shadow in a chase down the "Death Road" in Bolivia. I shall have to read this book.
