Levi won one race and came 2nd in two others on the Godet Vincent . He said the bike is great to ride . A real credit to Patrick keeping the Vincent name alive

I did the French rally some years ago with Christine sleeping under a hedge as my 3 phase Alton had gone PUFF so battery on charge, blagged a ride with Arthur Farrow to Patricks factory premises -wonderfully clean. Norman & Roger Lord working on their Vincent elevated on one of the work benches, feeling the weight between new Aluminium & Magnesium crankcases, out standing stuff. Met Patrick again last year at the French in the Jura Mountains with his sidecar outfit which he can comfortably sleep in. Engages with all and sundry explaining different aspects of some of his new build and restorations, I thought then what other professional Vincent dealer/ builder/restorer attends rallies after a few years of going into Vincent business; Doug Hollis is the only one that springs to mind.
Recently went over with Harvey and a couple of mates to take his Lightning Replica & "B" Rapide for fettling by Patrick's work force, workshop still immaculately clean with many more manufactured items , new 500cc crankcases in either aluminium or magnesium, Grey Flash parts, too many to recall with 5 & 6 speed boxes.
Can any one think of some one who's promoted the HRD Vincent marque more than Patrick ? Why is he not an Honorary member, I propose him, any one second it ?

The VOC Facebook page has a bunch of good photos. Here's one (I named the file Horner, but is it yours, Greg? I see it has a JE-like stem.):

, they do not Honorary members from people that make the mark famous !
'They' only bestow honorary memberships on people who have been nominated by the club members. If someone writes out a proper citation and submits it to the club secretary, in accordance with the rules, then it will be heard and voted on by the club membership at the AGM. There isn't a 'They' it is you who can make it happen.

In that case it is about time they were changed, from the Ark we have battleships, I was told by the last Chairman he would put it to the community that was 4 years back still waiting for the answer.

Hi there Bruce, yes that was my one......the stem was from the very first batch that Norman did, and probably the first one in use apart from the originals made by John Emmanuel himself. Sorry No help from the Horners on this bike, mostly from people on this forum..............Not surprisingly David Dunfey was the biggest help. It does not "Go" as quick as it did after I changed the cams from Mk 5 to Mk 2 after the valve springs broke. I told Phil to ask Ken Horner about some "Better cams" as he is very good friends with the two brothers. Cheers..................Greg.

Yes , I third that Marcus , I am surprised Patrick Godet is not an Honorary member already. Running a team at IOM as well as on the other side of the world are achievements in themselves let alone all the stuff I do not know about . I am pretty sure he raced a twin in the 80s . He does not blow his own trumpet, yet goes about his business quietly achieving and improving bikes based on original Vincent's designs. I was lucky enough to visit his workshop and was truly impressed at attention to detail and tidiness . I am sure there are I lot more knowledgeable people on this forum (in the club) who could write the required documents and submit them to Gill.
