Regarding tire age, I bought a 1930 Rudge in 1975 and the Dunlop Universals were marked "Saorstát Eireann" (Irish Free State). This was my only transport at the time and I had a twenty mile round trip for work on roads that were often very wet, It took several months before it dawned on me that Dunlop would have ceased marking their pressings this way when the Irish constitution was adopted in 1937, and from then onward their Irish pressings would read "Made in Ireland". The tires on my Rudge were at least 38 years old. They were still on the bike when I sold it a couple of years later, and since I know this bike has had little or no use since then, they could well be on there now!

The size makes sense, but not for want of looking I cannot find this tyre anywhere, not even on the Michelin website, is it a current tyre, and if so where do you purchase yours from. Thanks Peter

Ah, now it makes sense, what sizes did you choose for front and rear, I see Michelin list a couple of the older type dimensions, but mainly the modern sizes with the profile percentage of width.

F= 3.25-19 54H
R= 4.00-18 64H

Also do your body a favour - fit a decent hydraulic steering damper - ask me how
