Stumpy, there is a big hole in the system ect. A local club were having a show could they borrow one of my Shadows for the show. the next day a English guy and his son came to my home with the guys from the club returning my Bike, and said could he buy the Shadow, price was agreed money paid, then the local Harley dealer rings me to say he is pick up the bike putting it into a Harley crate taking it to Adelaide airport and it is going to the UK no problems it happened ( no trouble sending things out of a country no paper work wanted except a engineers report to say the Bike has no oil or petrol in it ) five years later a guy from the USA said he had the bike and was very happy, two years after that the then club registrar at the time contacted me and asked me for the details of the bike somebody in the UK had cloned that bike put into a auction in the UK unlucky for them a guy from the USA bought it, try to get it into the USA there customs had the same engine on file the last I heard the bike was still in the UK. so the moral of the story is no trouble sending a bike out of a country.

unfortunately they do not re appear on the open market, they just simply disappear, I know of at least four bikes that where stolen, and have simply vanished, one of them was lifted at the clubs annual rally. that bike had just been re built, and the owner had it back only days before it was stolen.

Thank's for that, sleep will come so much easier tonight. Even more glad that the new house has a large integral garage with steel security doors plus security cameras and an a linked alarm system.

I would not pretend to be a happy bunny should something of this nature occur but place a much higher value on irreplaceable friends and family past and present . The rest is in reality just stuff.

The same applies to Cars I sold my 1912 Daimler to a Museum in the UK, took it to Port Adelaide the guy there said put it in that container, have you a report to say no oil or petrol in the car gave it to him container door locked and sealed and of it went, at least with Paintings you do not have to drain the oil because that is already dry.

Problem solved, send all your Vincent Here well look after them for you.

After reading the Victorian Section survey in MPH 829, it appears that David Bowen is behind the curve when implying Australia doesn't need to worry about bureaucrats. Smugness has no place in this argument, legislation will affect all of us, there's no hiding place.

I am not a member of any club only member of the VOC, Im 85 who would listen to me, I have two ears and one mouth a good listener, Having a tea with the Late J S 10 years back he told me he was buying an old air field because the way Europe was going there would by no old motorcycles on the road, he would rent the airfield, out so owners could ride their bikes there, he had a good friend in Australia that was doing the same thing, you are lucky our MPH only arrives here at the end of the month still reading 828 slow reader,
